Expanded polystyrene (EPS) packaging is ubiquitous and it is extremely important to the environment and the UK Government’s annual recycling targets that it does not find its way into landfill. Sharp Polymer Solutions are committed to ensuring as much EPS waste as possible is safely and efficiently recycled.
Where possible we will use one of our Recycling Associates close to your site, to minimise the carbon footprint and reduce transport costs.
We will purchase any type of polystyrene can provide you with a full recycling service at very competitive rates. Commonly recycled forms of EPS include:
Expanded polystyrene is 100% recyclable but, being extremely light, it takes up a lot of load space on our trucks, meaning we can only accept consignments that have been pre-compacted. It pays to use highly efficient compacting equipment if you have access to it, as the heavier the load the better the price you will receive from us. Typical load weights are 8 to 20 tonnes.
Our usual collection method is via 40-foot, curtain-sided, articulated lorries. Please ensure there is sufficient turning space and that you have mechanical loading facilities if possible. If in doubt, please contact our customer service before ordering.
If this is your first time using an EPS waste recycling service, we will carefully explain the process to you and answer any questions you may have.
